City sees hot and humid weather

The weather remained hot and humid in the city throughout the day on Tuesday amid low rain and higher humidity.

However, the city dwellers got some sort of relief just in the afternoon amid a heavy wind with rain in places, said Met Office.

The city witnessed only 4.00 mm rainfall between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm, according to Met Office.

Maximum temperature of Dhaka was recorded at 33.8 degrees Celsius on the day while minimum temperature was 25.5 degrees Celsius.

Presence of humidity was 80 per cent in the morning which was 67 per cent in the evening, said Met Office.

Wind speed was 10-15 kph throughout the day which increased to 30-40 kph after 3:00 pm and continued for a few hours that brought some coolness in the city.

The country's highest temperature was 36 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi and the lowest of 23 degrees in Teknaf. Highest rainfall was also recorded in Teknak at 42 mms.

The Met Office forecasted that light to moderate rain might occur in most places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with heavy rainfall in places in next twenty four hours starting from Tuesday 6:00 pm.

The sun sets at 6:22 pm today (Wednesday) and will rise at 5:38am tomorrow (Thursday).
