City witnesses highest temperature

The country's highest temperature was recorded in Dhaka on Wednesday despite experiencing increased volume of rainfall.
Met Office recoded maximum temperature in the city at 34.4 degrees Celsius on Wednesday while it was 32.4 degrees on Tuesday.
However, it also recorded 23 millimeters (mm) of rainfall in Dhaka until 6:0pm on the day against 15mm on the previous day.
On the other hand, the rate of humidity in the city was recorded at 96 per cent on Wednesday.
The country's minimum temperature was recorded at 24 degrees Celsius in Sylhet on the day.
Highest rainfall was recorded at 44mm in Mymensingh until 6:0pm on Wednesday.
The Met Office forecasted that light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy rainfalls at places over the country.
The sun sets at 05:39 pm today (Thursday) and will rise at 05:54 am tomorrow (Friday).
