City witnesses rise in temperature

Temperature in Dhaka rose up by nearly 3.0 percentage points on Monday as no rainfall was recorded on the day.

According to the Met Office, the maximum temperature in Dhaka was 33.6 degree Celsius on Monday while it was 30.9 degrees on the previous day.

On the other hand, the rate of humidity (RH) fell in Dhaka to 76 per cent against 86 per cent on Sunday.

However, the country's highest temperature was recorded at 35.1 degree Celsius in Rajshahi on the day.

Except for a very few places like Sylhet and Badalgachi under Rajshahi division, no rainfall was recorded in the country until 6:00 pm on Monday.

The highest rainfall was recorded at 9.0 millimetres (mm) in Sylhet followed by Badalgachi with 4.0 mm, the Met Office said.

According to the Met Office, light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Chattogram division and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The sun sets in Dhaka at 05:47 pm today (Tuesday) and will rise at 5:49 am tomorrow (Wednesday).
