Cleaning campaign of Ctg city starts at CIU

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 23: The campaign to clean Chattogram city started at the Chittagong Independent University (CIU) from Monday.
Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, special assistant to the chief adviser of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, inaugurated the programme at the campus in the afternoon as chief guest. The Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr Shahadat Hossain and Youngone Limited Chairman Ki-hak Sung were present at the function as special guests.
Addressing the event, Mr Ahmad Taiyeb said, "Cleanliness is not just the responsibility of the city corporation, or the government; it is the responsibility of all of us. The younger generation must come forward for this initiative and ensure their participation in building a clean city. Such activities initiate positive changes in society."
The function was presided over by CIU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr M M Nurul Absar. Among others, CIU trustee board member Sayed Mahmadul Haque and CIU Assistant Register Ruma Das addressed the function.
After the inauguration event, a rally was held on the Jamal Khan Road to raise awareness among the city residents to keep the city clean.
