Coast Guard seize 10,000 Yaba pills in Teknaf

Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) seized a total of 10,000 contraband Yaba pills and 200 cans of beer conducting a drive in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar on Saturday.

On a tip-off, a team of BCG (East zone) conducted a drive in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar and seized the Yaba pills and cans of foreign beer worth Tk 5.1 million (Tk51,00,000) said a press release from the force.

No one was arrested as the smugglers fled the scene sensing the presence of BCG.

Director General of BCG Rear Admiral Aurangzeb Chowdhury said in the press release that BCG will continue the drive against illicit drugs in compliance with the Prime Minister's directive.

Bangladesh Coast Guard seized a total of 8.06 million (80,60,000) Yaba tablets in 2018 till date, the release added.
