Conductor was driving bus that killed singer Parvez: Police

The bus of 'Victor Classic Paribahan' that ran over singer and music composer Parvez Rob was being driven by its conductor, said police, reports UNB.

A special team of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested driver Md Sumon from Masdair Bazar under Fatullah of Narayanganj and conducctor Md Akhter Hossain from Dinarain in Nariaupazila of Shariatpur on Friday.

Parvez Rob was killed being hit by a bus of Victor Classic Paribahan while he was waiting for another bus in front of East-West Medical College in the city's Turag area on September 5.

According to information gleaned during preliminary investigation, driver Sumon asked conductor Akther around 10 am on the day to drive the bus that hit Parvez, leaving him dead on the spot.

Later, victim's wife filed a case with Turag Police Station in this connection.

On September 7, his son Yamin Alvi and his friend Mehedi Hasan Choton went to Uttara sector 9 in search of the driver and helper of Victor Classic Paribahan but another bus of the company hit them, killing Mehedi on the spot and injuring Alvi seriously.

Another case was filed with Uttara West Police Station in this connection.
