Continuous rain disrupts normal life in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, June 18: The sufferings of the people of Chattogram, the second largest city of the country, know no bounds, as the monsoon rain has been continuing for the last couple of days.

Starting on Wednesday night, the rain was continuing till filing of the report as of 5:00pm on Friday.

As a result, the heavy downpour was contributing to the waterlogging, disrupting people's normal life.

A total of 97 mm of rainfall was recorded in the last 24 hours till 3:00pm on Friday, according to the local meteorological department.

The meteorological department also issued the Heavy Rainfall Warning for Chattogram and the adjoining areas.

Sources said the Bay of Bengal is now very rough due to the inclement weather and heavy rainfall.

The meteorological department forecasts that the water level will increase during the high tide, overflowing the banks of rivers and the Bay.
