Cops nab female cricketer with 14,000 Yaba tablets

CHATTOGRAM, Apr 22 (UNB): Police arrested a female cricketer with 14,000 Yaba tablets from a bus at Natun Bridge area under Bakalia thana in the port city on Sunday morning.

The arrestee is Nazrin Khan Mukta (23), a regular player of Dhaka Premier League Ansar Team and daughter of Abul Khair in Trishal Mathbari of Mymensingh district.

Pranab Chowdhury, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bakalia thana, said when Mukta was going to Cox's Bazar from Dhaka by a bus police stopped it and recovered the Yaba tablets from her possession.

Mukta confessed that she used to collect Yaba from Chittagong and supply those to Ripon in Dhaka.

Necessary legal steps will be taken in this connection, the OC added.
