Cops nab three muggers, drug traders in city

Police have arrested three professional muggers and drug traders from Tejgaon area in the capital.

The arrestees were identified as Md Azizul Islam (35), Md Raju (28) and Md Rafiqul Islam.

Two knives, one big machete, one bone cutting knife, 238 pieces of Yaba tablets, 1300 grams hashish, one motor bike, six mobile sets, and cash Tk 17,000 were also recovered from their possession.

Acting on a tip off, a mobile team of Tejgaon Police Station conducted a drive in West Nakhalpara area and nabbed them on Thursday night. The arrestees were involved in drug trading and mugging at Nakhalpara and in adjoining areas for long. Several cases were pending against them.

Legal action was taken against them, according to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
