Cops recover businessman's body from pond

CHITTAGONG, Jan 10: The body of a poultry and fishery entrepreneur has been recovered from a pond in Fartikchhari upazila of the district today.

Police said they recovered the body of Md Mohiuddin (30) from the pond of one Mahmudur Rahman at Paindong village in the upazila this morning after receiving information from villagers. The victim, whose hands and legs were found tied with rope, might have been stabbed to death, police suspect.

Quoting the deceased's family members, Officer-in- Charge of Fatikchhari police station Zakir Hossain Mahmud said Mohiuddin had gone out of his village home on Tuesday noon but did not return since then, said.

Son of Azizul Haque, Md Mohiuddin used to ran a poultry farm and a fishery project. The body was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for an autopsy, the OC said.
