The Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court Tuesday instructed the concerned authorities to preserve the foreign curries and gold ornaments of former Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank Sitangshu Kumar (SK) Sur Chowdhury in the vault of Bangladesh Bank (BB), reports BSS.

Md Zakir Hossain Galib, judge of the court, passed the order following a petition submitted by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The foreign currencies and gold ornaments were seized by the ACC from his lockers at Bangladesh Bank.

ACC Lawyer Mahmud Hossain Jahangir said that ACC Deputy Director Nazmul Hussain prayed to the court to preserve the foreign currencies including US dollars, Euros and gold ornaments at an appropriate place or the government treasury.

The ACC lawyer moved the petition before the court on behalf of the anti-graft body. The court after hearing the arguments of the ACC lawyer passed the order.

On January 22, the court ordered to seize the lockers of the former Deputy Governor and the ACC officials seized 55,000 Euros, 169,300 US dollars, 1005 grams of gold and Fixed Deposit Records (FDR) worth about Tk 7.0 million from his lockers of the central bank on January 26 last.
