Cox's Bazar road crash kills tourist

COX'S BAZAR, Feb 15: A female tourist was killed and three others were injured in a road accident on Marine Drive Road of Cox's Bazar on Thursday afternoon.
According to witnesses and police sources, the accident occurred around 3:30pm when a battery-run autorickshaw collided head-on with a microbus. Four passengers of the autorickshaw were critically injured.
On information locals and fire fighting team rescued the injured persons. A female tourist succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. The deceased was identified as Shammi Akter (32), wife of customs officer Ahsanul Haq of Dhaka. Three injured passengers came to Cox's Bazar on a family tour on Thursday morning.
The driver of the microbus managed to escape, police sources said.
