Ctg div dominates new cabinet

Sylhet gets least representation

Chattogram has emerged as the dominant division in ministerial representation in the newly formed cabinet of the BNP-led government.

The Chattogram division has secured the highest number of ministers, with 12 members, including 10 full ministers and two state ministers, in the newly formed Tarique Rahman-led cabinet of the Bangladesh government.

On the other hand, Sylhet division has the least representation in the cabinet, with only two members.

Tarique Rahman and 49 other cabinet members took their oaths on Tuesday afternoon.

The 50-member cabinet was sworn in by President Mohammed Shahabuddin at the south plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in the capital.

Ministers from Chattogram division are Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury (Chattogram), Salahuddin Ahmed (Cox's Bazar), Abdul Awal Mintoo (Feni), Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad (Cumilla), Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee (Laxmipur), Zakaria Taher (Cumilla), Dipen Dewan (Rangamati), ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon (Chandpur), Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid (Cumilla), and Dr Khalilur Rahman (Technocrat).

State ministers are Junaid Abdur Rahim Saki (Brahmanbaria) and Mir Muhammad Helal Uddin (Chattogram).

From Dhaka division, a total of 10 ministers took their oaths.

Full ministers include Afroza Khanam Rita (Manikganj), Fakir Mahbub Anam Swapan (Tangail), Sardar Sakhawat Hossain Bakul (Narshingdi), and Sheikh Rabiul Alam (Dhaka-10).

State ministers are Ishraq Hossain (Dhaka), Shama Obaid Islam (Faridpur-2), Sultan Salahuddin Tuku (Tangail), Bobby Hajjaj (Dhaka), Habibur Rashid (Dhaka), and Ali Newaz Mahmud Khayyam (Rajbari).

Rajshahi division has six ministers. Full ministers are Iqbal Hasan Mahmud (Sirajganj) and Mizanur Rahman Minu (Rajshahi), while state ministers are MA Muhith (Sirajganj-6), Mir Shahe Alam (Bogura-2), Farzana Sharmin (Natore), and Muhammad Abdul Bari (Joypurhat-2).

Barisal division has two full ministers, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed (Bhola) and Zahir Uddin Swapan (Barisal-1), and three state ministers: Ahmed Sohel Manjur (Pirojpur-2), Rajib Ahsan (Barisal-4), and Md Nurul Haque Nur (Patuakhali-3).

Khulna division has two full ministers, Nitai Roy Chowdhury (Magura-2) and Md Asaduzzaman (Jhenidah-1), and two state ministers, Anindya Islam Amit (Jashore-3) and Sheikh Faridul Islam (Bagerhat-3).

In Mymensingh division, state ministers are Md Shariful Alam (Kishoreganj-6), Kaiser Kamal (Netrokona-1), M Rashiduzzaman Millat (Jamalpur-1), Yaser Khan Chowdhury (Mymensingh-9), and M Iqbal Hossain (Mymensingh-3).

From Rangpur division, ministers are Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir (Thakurgaon-1), Abu Zafar Mohammad Zahid Hossain (Dinajpur-6), and Asadul Habib (Lalmonirhat-3), with state minister Farhad Hossain Azad (Panchagarh-2).

From Sylhet division, the ministers are Ariful Haque Chowdhury (Sylhet) and Khandaker Abdul Moktadir (Sylhet).
