CU VC violates rules, allege eight senate members

CHATTOGRAM, Mar 10: Eight senate members of the Chittagong University alleged that the rules of appointment in the Bangabandhu Chair have not been followed and the vice chancellor violated the rules in appointing himself to the prestigious seat.

A statement of the senate members signed by Professor Kazi SM Khasrul Alam Quuddusi, one of the senate members, was sent to different newspapers on Saturday.

The statement said VC Professor Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury also violated the Chittagong University Act 1973 in the appointment. By appointing himself he ruined the image of the prestigious chair and lost his moral rights.
