Participants at the discussion on Potua Quamrul Hassan held in the city recently. A discussion meeting was held in the city recently marking the 30th death anniversary of Potua Quamrul Hassan, designer of National Flag and founder teacher of faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka, says a statement.
Quamrul Hassan is also monogram designer of People's Republic of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Biman, Bangladesh Bank, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, Freedom Fighter Welfare Trust, and Bangladesh Currency.
He designed those monograms with the instruction of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Reza Asad Al Huda Anupam, Chairman, department of graphic design, Dhaka University and Professor Nisar Hossain, dean, faculty of Fine Arts were present at the meeting.
Ms. Shumona Hasan, Daughter of Potua Quamrul Hassan, Artist Professor Shamarjit Roy Chowdhury, Artist Professor Rofiqun Nabi, Mr. Abul Hasnat, Editor, Kali and Kalam, Professor Dr. Sayed Azizul Haque, Department of Bangla, Dhaka University were also present.
