Dengue: over 500 new cases with no death

A total of 39 people died from dengue, while 10,496 cases were reported in August, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In July, there were 10,684 dengue patients and health authorities reported 41 deaths.

In the past 24 hours until Monday morning, 552 new dengue patients were hospitalised. No deaths were reported on that day, bringing the total number of hospitalisations due to the mosquito-borne disease to 32,028.

Of the 552 new cases, 114 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, 97 in Chattogram, 107 in Dhaka (excluding the capital), 59 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) area, and 94 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) area. Additionally, there were 44 cases in Khulna division, 14 in Mymensingh division, 21 in Rajshahi division, and two in Sylhet division. TheDGHS provided these figures in its daily statement.
