Dhaka, Ideal College students lock in clash

Students of Dhaka College and Ideal College again locked in a clash in the capital's Science Lab area on Thursday. However, reasons behind the clash could not be known immediately.

A tense situation prevailed due to the clash that followed chase and counter chase between the students of the two colleges.

An official at the concerned police station said police fired two rounds of tear-gas shells to bring the situation under control.

Vehicular movements halted briefly on the Mirpur Road in New Market area, forcing the commuters to suffer.

On November 9 last year, under the mediation of New Market Police Station, the students of the two colleges verbally reached a "peace agreement" to end violence and "foster brotherhood" and not to lock themselves in further clashes. But breaking their promise they again locked horns on Thursday.
