DMP arrests 93 alleged muggers

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested a total of 93 alleged muggers during raids at different places in the capital in the 24 hours to Monday morning.
Members of the DMP began the raid at 8:00 am on Sunday under the directives of Commissioner Shiekh Md Sajjad Ali.
The law enforcers arrested eight of them from Ramna, 14 from Motijheel, 26 from Lalbagh, 10 from Wari, 19 from Tejgaon, four from Mirpur, eight from Uttara, and four from Gulshan regions.
An official of DMP told the FE that process was underway to take legal measures against the arrested individuals.
Moreover, the DMP lodged 1,594 cases against traffic rule violators at different places in the capital in the same period.
Deputy Police Commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of DMP Muhammad Talebur Rahman told the FE that 46 vehicles have been seized while 55 others were moved to a dumping ground for keeping those there for certain time.
