DMP files 1,599 cases for violating traffic rules

The traffic department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed 1,599 cases on charges of violation of traffic rules in the capital on Sunday.
It also dumped 213 cars and took away 86 more to keep them for a certain time.
On Monday, a DMP official said they stepped up their efforts to restore discipline on the roads for safe and smooth journey on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr. The traffic department is continuing the drive against unlicensed drivers and unroadworthy vehicles.
