DMP issues traffic directives for Eid

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Sunday issued directives on vehicular movements aiming to ensure safe and hassle-free Eid journey of homebound passengers.
Confirming the matter, Deputy Police Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Muhammad Talebur Rahman said the traffic department of DMP has taken measures regarding the issue.
Around 10 million people are expected to leave the capital while three million will enter on the occasion of the upcoming festival.
As per the authorised decision, the movement of trucks, covered vans and lorries on the highways will be restricted three days before and after Eid-ul- Fitr.
Traffic from March 25 to until previous night of Eid has to abide by the prescribed routes mentioned in the following.
On the Dhaka-Ashulia Highway, vehicles exiting Dhaka will use the Abdullahpur (Uttara, Dhaka)-Kamarpara-Daur Bridge road as a one-way route.
The vehicles that will enter into the capital must follow Ashulia- Daur- Panchabati- Mirpur and Gabtali route by avoiding Ashulia-Daur- Kamarpara- Abdullahpur.
All traffic towards Joydevpur intersection from Dhaka will be one-way. The DMP has called upon drivers, helpers, passengers and others to follow its directives.
