Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has taken an initiative to give 'Citizen Award 2025' to individuals and organisations for their contribution to the city's development, reports BSS.
The motto of the award is to create a responsible society of the citizens with the theme 'My City, My Responsibility'. The award will be given to 30 persons or organisations under six categories. The individuals and organisations, who are the drivers of positive changes in the areas of education, technology and culture, can be the award claimers.
Online application form for the award will be available on the DNCC website from current month. Interested persons, institutions or organisations can apply along with the description of the project, pictures, videos and necessary documents. However, active politicians and persons convicted on corrupt charges cannot apply.
"The award, first of its kind, will be given for contribution to city development, environment conservation, social service, and services for raising public awareness on impending issues," DNCC Administrator Mohammad Ezaz said.
It is possible to build a sustainable city for future through recognising and encouraging the initiatives of the citizens, their environment-friendly thinking and services to the society. This initiative would help the young generation to connect with social leaders and innovative practices, he added.
