DNCC to remove cattle waste within 24-hr

The waste of sacrificial animals will be removed from the capital within 24 hours on the Eid day, said Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) panel mayor Md Jamal Mostofa, reports UNB.

The DNCC panel mayor said this while talking to reporters after a meeting with the Waste Management Committee members at Dhaka North Nagar Bhaban on Monday.

"We express the hope we will able to make the city clean within 24 hours on the Eid day", he said.

Mostofa also called upon the city dwellers to slaughter their animals at 549 designated spots under DNCC.

At least 183 designated spots will have the facility of shade, he added.

The panel mayor said under DNCC at least 9500 cleaners, including 2700 city corporation's own employees, will work for waste management.

Mostofa also said now they have the capacity to remove 10,000 tonnes of waste in a day.

Moreover, the waste of 10 sacrificial cattle markets under DNCC is being cleaned regularly, he said.
