DNCC to start drive against illegal billboards

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam on Saturday said the corporation will start cleansing drive against illegal billboards and signboards from September15.

He also called upon the owners of billboards and signboards to take permission within next two days.

The mayor made the call while inaugurating Justice Sahabuddin Ahmed Park at Gulshan in the city.

Remembering former Mayor late Annisul Haque, Mr Atiq said he had dream of development of the parks and playgrounds in Dhaka city.

There are 1,700 trees in the park which are not cut down. The design of the park has been done by involving the local community. There are also both indoor and outdoor gymnasiums in this park apart from a coffee shop and a library with Mujib corner.
