Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has completed all preparations for the main Eid-ul-Fitr congregation at the National Eidgah ground in the city, reports UNB.
At a press briefing at the National Eidgah on Saturday, Administrator of DSCC Md. Shahjahan Mia said the venue is ready to accommodate approximately 35,000 Muslim devotees.
To ensure a smooth and secure congregation, law enforcement agencies, including police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), will be deployed around the venue, he said.
Special security measures have been put in place, and necessary facilities have been arranged for the convenience of Muslim devotees.
Emergency medical services will also be available, with medical teams and ambulances on standby to address any health emergencies during the congregation.
In case of rain or unfavorable weather, alternative arrangements have been made to facilitate prayers.
Besides, a second Eid congregation has been scheduled at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 9 am.
"We have completed all necessary arrangements to ensure that people can perform their Eid prayers comfortably and safely," said the DSCC administrator, urging Dhaka residents to join the main congregation.
UNB from Kishoreganj adds: the largest Eid-ul-Fitr congregation in Bangladesh is set to take place at the historic Sholakia Eidgah field in Kishoreganj at 10:00 am on the day of Eid.
This marks the 198th edition of the Eid prayer at this iconic location, which attracts worshippers from across the country and abroad.
Mufti Abul Khayer Mohammad Saifulloh will lead this year's prayer, continuing a long-standing tradition of renowned scholars presiding over the event.
