Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has announced a budget of over Tk 67.60 billion (6,760.74 crore) for the fiscal year (FY) 2024-25, reports BSS.
DSCC Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh announced the budget at Mayor Hanif Auditorium at the Nagar Bhaban in the capital on Wednesday.
The revenue income in the new budget from own source is Tk 13.99 billion, while Tk 1.04 billion will come from other sectors. Tk 43.63 billion will come from the government and foreign sources, while Tk 700 million from the government and block allocation.
The total operating expenditure has been estimated at Tk 5.53 billion, while other expenses have been estimated at Tk 150.2 million.
Besides, DSCC's own financing development expenditure is Tk 10.05 billion, while the government and foreign auxiliary development expenditure is estimated at Tk 43.63 billion.
Total development expenditure is calculated at Tk 53.68 billion and the closing status is estimated at Tk 8.23 billion.
DSCC has allocated Tk 1.0 billion in FY 2024-25 for solving water-logging problem. Apart from this, another Tk 10 million has been allocated for purchase and installation of water pumps to alleviate water-logging problem.
In the financial year, DSCC has allocated Tk 444.7 million for mosquito eradication.
Analysing the new budget, it has been found that DSCC will spend Tk 400 million to buy pesticides to kill mosquitoes. Besides, Tk 37.5 million will be spent on fogger, wheel, spray machines and transport.
Besides, bleaching powder and disinfectant will be bought at a cost of Tk 5.0 million. The latest mosquito control equipment will be purchased at a cost of Tk 5.0 million.
