DSCC realises Tk 0.8m from shops as fine

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Sunday realised Tk 0.8 million as fine from a bakery and pastry shop, and a restaurant for adulteration and preparing substandard food.

Judge of the Safe Food Court 1 and a special Metropolitan Magistrate Court under chief metropolitan magistrate (CMM) Mahbub Sobhani gave the verdict against the two companies after the allegations were proved.

Earlier, a DSCC inspector filed the case against the owner of Mr Baker Cake and Pastry Shop Amin Ullah for preparing and selling low quality food on Abul Hasnat Road of Zone-4 of DSCC. The special metropolitan court realised Tk 0.4 million fine.

In another case which was filed against the owners of New Samia Hotel and Restaurant Saifuddin Ahmed and Faruk Hossain at Kamalapur of Zone-2 of DSCC for the same offence. He also paid Tk 0.4 million as fine.

Meanwhile, DSCC inspector Fakruddin Mubarak filed a case against Bistro Bakery and Pastry on Baily Road for preparing substandard food and adulteration.
