DSCC to plant 300,000 trees

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Administrator Abdus Salam on Friday announced that the city corporation will plant 300,000 trees over the next five years in areas under its jurisdiction, reports UNB.

He made the announcement while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of a tree plantation programme held at the University of Dhaka in the morning.

The programme was organised with the support of Srijoni Bangladesh.

"There is no alternative to tree plantation to save lives and protect the environment. Therefore, the Prime Minister's nationwide tree plantation campaign must be transformed into a mass movement," the DSCC Administrator said.
