DU Mourning Day today--

The Dhaka University (DU) will observe Mourning Day today (Wednesday) to commemorate the tragic incident that took place at Jagannath Hall on this day in 1985, reports BSS.

On October 15 in 1985, at least 39 people were reportedly killed in the tragic Jagannath Hall rooftop collapse.

Since then, October 15 has been observed every year as the DU Mourning Day to honour the memories of those who lost their lives in the tragedy.

The university family will pay tribute by laying floral wreaths at the Jagannath Hall Memorial at 7:30 am today to mark the day.

DU VC Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan is expected to lead the event.

A discussion will be held at 8:00 am in the TV room of the October Memorial Building at Jagannath Hall.
