Dhaka University (DU) organised a special rally on Monday to celebrate the beginning of December, the month of victory.
University authorities and leaders of the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) took part in the rally, named Victory Rally.
Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan led the rally, which started at 9:00 AM from the base of Aparajeyo Bangla.
Pro-VC (Administration) Prof. Dr. Sayema Haque Bidisha, Pro-VC (Education) Prof. Dr. Mamun Ahmed, Treasurer Prof. Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, along with teachers, students, DUCSU leaders, officers, and employees joined the rally.
The rally moved from Aparajeyo Bangla, passed through TSC, and ended at Smriti Chirantan Chattar.
Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Niaz Ahmed Khan said, "December is a significant milestone for us. The contribution of Dhaka University during the nation's critical moments will always be remembered. Whenever the nation has needed us, we have stood beside our people."
He added that the Victory Rally symbolises unity and carries the message of standing together in all situations.
After the rally, teachers and students of the Department of Music performed patriotic songs, songs of liberation and victory at Smriti Chirantan Chattar.
