DU student demands action

A University of Dhaka (DU) student, Abdullah Al Mahmud, who has recently been at the centre of controversy over a widely circulated Facebook post, has put forward a three-point demand, alleging that he has been targeted by fabricated screenshots.

He also said DUCSU leaders and journalists have been attacked by activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD).

Mahmud presented his demands at a press conference held in front of the DUCSU office at 4:00 pm on Friday.

He called for a fair investi- gation into the incident at Shahbag Police Station, including reported assaults on students and journalists, as well as a thorough review of the police's role.

He also demanded that those responsible for spreading the fabricated screenshots be identified and brought to justice.
