Education UK expo begins in 3 divisions on Feb 13

British Council, Bangladesh is going to organise the 16th 'Education UK Exhibition-2014' in major divisions of the country to facilitate the local students to study in the United Kingdom (UK).

Director Partnerships and Programmes of British Council Robin Davies said the exhibition will be held in three divisions-Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet from February 13, 2014.

The director was speaking at a press conference at a city hotel Wednesday. Among others, British Council Project Manager--Services for International Education Marketing (SIEM) M Jahir Uddin and Manager-Marketing Promotion--Shakila Azim were present on the occasion.

He said that this year a total of 40 leading UK universities will participate in the education fair where the visitors can inquire about the admission related information.     

The director added that considering the demand of students, the British Council has decided to expand its fair venue to the Sylhet city this year. "We're really happy to bring Sylhet division under the network for the first time," the director noted.

He told the journalists that the two-day education fair will kick off at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital on February 13 and the daylong showcase will be held at Chittagong Penisula Hotel on February 16, while another daylong event will be held at Sylhet Rose View Hotel on February 19, 2014.

The exhibitions will remain open from 12:00 noon to 7:00pm except Dhaka, where the exhibition will remain open from 11:00am to 7:00pm.  Entry fee of the exhibition has been fixed at Tk50 that will include a welcome pack with information on all attending UK institutions.

There will also be a representative from the UK Border Agency (UKBA) at the British Council stall to answer visa related inquiries of the visitors.  Students were encouraged to pre-register for free entry at the exhibition.
