Eight DU students hurt in shuttle bus accident in city

Eight students of Dhaka University (DU) were injured after a campus shuttle bus met with an accident in the capital on Wednesday morning. The accident occurred at around 9:00 am, involving a 'Khonika' bus operating on the DU-Gazipur route.

Eyewitnesses said one of the tires of the bus suddenly burst while it was coming down from the Mohakhali expressway. The driver lost control, causing the bus to collide with a black microbus under the flyover. The injured students were quickly rescued and taken to nearby hospitals.

Images circulating on social media show that the front portion of the bus was severely damaged after crashing into the microbus. The windshield of the bus was shattered, and its front door was left hanging. The microbus also sustained heavy damage, particularly at the rear.
