Elias, Rinvy DU MCJ Alumni Assoc president, GS

The Dhaka University Mass Communication and Journalism Alumni Association (DUMCJAA) has elected its new executive committee for the 2026-28 tenure through direct voting by its members.

Senior journalist and advisory editor of the Times of Bangladesh Elias Uddin Khan was elected president while Swadhin Media editor Shahnaz Sharmin Rinvy was elected general secretary uncontested.

The newly-elected vice presidents are Tariqul Islam Khan, deputy general manager (public relations) of Petrobangla; Gazipur Deputy Commissioner Md Nurul Karim Bhuiyan; former secretary general of Dhaka Reporters Unity Kabir Ahmed Khan; Prime Bank Executive Vice President Sharmin Akhter; and former journalist and analyst Sahed Alam.

Elected joint secretaries are Jamuna Television senior reporter Shakil Hasan, J&Z Group Chairman Jesmin Jahan, and Joyti Prokashoni publisher Majedul Hasan.

Taqi Mohammad Zobayer was elected finance secretary while Masud Bin Abdur Razzaq became organising secretary. Rafiqul Islam was elected assistant organising secretary and Lincoln Md Lutfarjaman Sarkar was elected assistant finance secretary.
