EWU hosts Lit-Carnival 2025

Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chairperson of the East West University Board of Trustees, attended the EWU Lit-Carnival 2025, held on its campus on Thursday.
The Department of English at East West University (EWU) hosted its annual inter-university literary competition, Foodi Presents EWU Lit-Carnival 2025, on Thursday at the university campus in the city, according to a press release.
This day-long celebration drew more than 200 participants and visitors from 22 public and private universities across the country.
The carnival showcased a diverse range of events designed to foster literary appreciation and creative expression. Key competitions included Spot Poetry and Recitation, Comic-Con and Cosplay, Poster Presentation, Drama, and Masquerade.
Besides, there were a literature-themed food court and a well-loved used-book swap, enriching the cultural experience for attendees.
Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chairperson of the EWU Board of Trustees, was present at the inaugural ceremony.
Luva Nahid Choudhury, Director General of the Bengal Foundation, attended as the chief guest, delivering an address and officially opening the stalls in the university courtyard.
One of the day's major highlights was the Spot Poetry competition, judged by notable literary figures such as Munize Manzur, Member of the EWU Board of Trustees and Principal of Sunbeams School, and Professor Dr. Fakrul Alam, Advisor to the Department of English and former Pro Vice Chancellor of EWU.
Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Vice Chancellor of East West University, delivered the concluding remarks as the special guest.
