Ex-BDR men block Shahbag

A group of former members of the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) blocked the Shahbag intersection in the capital on Monday, demanding reinstatement to their jobs.

During the demonstration, they faced police resistance and later staged a sit-in in front of the National Museum. The demonstrators initially gathered at the Central Shaheed Minar at 11:00 AM and began a march towards the State Guest House Jamuna at around 12:00 PM. Police intercepted the protestors by setting up a barricade at Shahbag. But the ex-BDR members pushed through it and staged the sit-in at the intersection, disrupting vehicular movement.
