KGM Latiful Bari, a highly distinguished former CSP official and secretary to the government of Bangladesh, passed away on Tuesday.
Mr Bari breathed his last at Square Hospitals in the city. He was 92.
Born on August 7, 1933, Mr Bari's death marks the end of a long life dedicated to public service, says a statement.
His contributions included the critical role of editing the Bangladesh district gazetteers for Jessore and Bogra in 1979.
Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, chairperson of the Board of Trustees of East West University, expressed his condolence upon the passing of Latiful Bari, noting that the nation has lost a dedicated public servant and an individual of high moral character.
