Ex-PDB engineer S M Wazed Ali Sardar dies

Former Bangladesh Power Development Board (PDB) Member (Production) and renowned engineer S M Wazed Ali Sardar passed away due to heart disease at his Gulshan residence in the capital on Tuesday. He was 60 years old, according to a PDB press statement.

He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.

Deeply mourning the death, PDB Chairman (Grade-1) Engineer Md. Rezaul Karim expressed his condolences to the bereaved family.

S M Wazed Ali joined PDB on February 28, 1988 as an assistant engineer. Later, he served in several important positions in PDB. He worked as a division manager at Saudi Electricity Company (SECO) from 2003 to 2010. In October 2022, he assumed responsibility as the PDB Member (Production), and retired in December 2023.

His funeral prayer was set to be held in his native village in Naogaon on Thursday before a burial at his family graveyard.
