Bangladeshi expatriates demanded steps from the government to check air ticket-related malpractices and ensure proper services to the clients for online air ticket booking.
They also sought a special savings scheme for migrant Bangladeshis to enhance remittance inflow to the country.
These demands were made at The World Conference Series 2024 titled "Branding Bangladesh" held at a city hotel in London on Monday.
Centre for Non-Resident Bangladeshi (NRB) organised the event, according to a press release issued on Tuesday.
Their other demands were formation of special tribunals for expatriates for speedy adjudication, restriction or ban of Bangladeshi politics abroad, appointment of talented diplomats in missions, etc.
The expatriates also requested to ease the complexity of getting a power of attorney and facilitate obtaining National Identity Cards.
They expressed their views on giving sufficient time to the new government formed as a result of the student movement to complete its overall reform works.
They urged the newly formed interim government to take legal action against looters in the financial sector and money launderers abroad.
Barrister Saif Uddin Khaled, speaker of Tower Hamlets Council was present as the chief guest at the conference, while M S Shekil Chowdhury, chairperson and founder of the Centre for NRB, among others, were present.
