Finance Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed said the finance ministry will provide the cooperation needed to improve law and order for a fair election in February, reports bdnews24.com.

On Wednesday, Salehuddin said loan defaulters will "theoretically" be unable to participate in the election.

"The Election Commission will look into the issue," he said during the inauguration of the National Pension Authority's "U Pension" app at the Secretariat.

"The Ministry of Finance is providing all kinds of assistance to the Ministry of Home Affairs to maintain law and order."

At the event, it was said that individuals can now subscribe to universal pension schemes and pay contributions through the "U Pension" mobile app. Subscribers will be able to log in, verify all information, and receive notifications via their mobile phones.

All tasks, including changing account nominees, can be done through the app.

The finance advisor said, "Bringing government employees and university teachers under the universal pension scheme will be considered. If there are any flaws in this scheme, measures will be taken to correct them.

"People from all professions are not participating in the scheme. We need to investigate why this is happening and where the public's reluctance lies," he added.
