Four engine boats seized from Halda

CHATTOGRAM, Apr 22: Local administration conducted raid in the Halda river yesterday (Sunday). The team seized four sand carrier engine boats and destroyed them on the spot.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Hathazari Ruhul Amin said, "Following measures to save Halda from pollution, we have conducted a mobile court. The administration will conduct mobile court regularly."

Meanwhile, police nabbed one terrorist with firearms from Kamalpara under Hathazari upazila in Chattogram last night.

The arrested is identified as Shahabuddin Mahamud Shipu (45). He is the son of one Younus Meah of the area.

Sources said acting on secret information, a team of police of Hathazari thana raided the Kamalpara area under Hathazari upazila last night. But sensing the presence Shipu entered a mosque as devotee. However, police nabbed him with one pistol and 7 rounds of bullet from the spot when he was coming out of the mosque at around 2.00 am last night.
