Four to die for killing auto owner

GAZIPUR, Feb 6 (UNB): A court here sentenced four people on Tuesday to death for killing a CNG-run auto-rickshaw owner in 2012.

The convicts are Kamrul Islam of Narsingdi, Shawkat of Gazipur, Mizan and Shaheen Miah of Netrokona.

Gazipur District and Sessions Judge AKM Enamul Haque pronounced the verdict in the morning.

The court also fined the convicts with Tk 10,000 each.

According to the case statement, the convicts snatched a CNG-run auto-rickshaw after hacking its owner to death and injuring the driver at Khanspara area of Sreepur on January 19 in 2012. Later, a case was filed with Sreepur Model Police Station.
