Fugitive gang rape accused nabbed in city

Police arrested a fugitive, accused in a gang rape case of Panchagarh district, from the capital's Kamlapur Railway Station on Thursday, reports BSS.

The arrested was Md. Saddam, 32, one of the fugitive and wanted accused in a gang rape case in 2022. After receiving secret information, a Detective Branch (DB) team arrested him at around 10:30pm on Thursday.

The accused fled from Panchagarh immediately after the incident and came to Dhaka. He had been in hiding for three years. The trial of the gang rape case against him and others is ongoing in the court, said a Police press release.
