Initially, he denied carrying gold with him. Later, his luggage was scanned thoroughly and gold weighing two kilograms and 97 grams was recovered from his luggage.

The seized gold was found wrapped with paper and black scotch-tape. Its market value was around Tk 14.6 million.

In another drive, the customs intelligence also recovered gold ornaments weighing 855 grams after searching the body of a passenger named Rakibul Hasan who arrived at HSIA from Dubai on Thursday.
