Govt okays 26 days of holidays in 2025

The Advisory Council has approved the proposed list of 26 of holidays for the 2025 calendar year, reports UNB.
The approval came from a meeting of Advisory Council chaired by Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus at his office in the capital on Thursday.
The holidays included 12 general holidays and 14 holidays by the executive order. Nine holidays would coincide weekends (Fridays and Saturdays).
There will be 12 general holidays and among these five days will be weekly holidays and holidays for festivals of different religions.
Besides, there will be 14 holidays by the executive orders and among these four days will be weekly holidays for Pahela Baishakh and other important religious holidays.
The indigenous people will get three-day holiday on the occasion of Baisabi.
The holiday list was made according to the list of 2024 holidays and following the different religious calendars and the first month of Bengali and Arabic months.
