‘Govt to promote jute bags as an alternative to polythene’

November 09, 2020 00:00:00

The government will provide all necessary assistance for the research and development of jute bags to get rid of polythene, reports UNB.

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin said this on Saturday while inaugurating a free fertiliser and seeds distribution programme in Moulvibazar's Barlekha.

"We should use jute bags instead of harmful polythene bags to sustain a livable environment. The government is implementing different eco-friendly projects for public welfare with the Climate Change Trust Fund."
