Govt to take steps to upgrade education standard: Minister

Education Minister Dipu Moni said on Sunday the government will take all necessary steps to improve the standard of education in the country, reports UNB.

"I will do whatever necessary to improve the education system. Another issue is standard of education which I'm giving the utmost priority and have taken it as a challenge to enhance its quality", she said.

The minister came up with the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a programme organised by Bangladesh Education Reporters Forum at National Academy for Educational Management (Naem) auditorium in the city.

"No corruption will be tolerated in the education sector. All departments concerned were given warning in this regard. Besides, measures will be taken to remove all kinds of mismanagement," she said.

Former vice-chancellor of the University of Dhaka AAMS Arefin Siddique presided over the programme.
