HC adjourns hearing on Minni's bail petition

The High Court (HC) on Monday adjourned until today (Tuesday) the hearing on a bail petition filed by Aysha Siddika Minni, the wife of Rifat Sharif who was killed in broad daylight in Barguna.

The court also ordered the lawyers for Minni to submit to the court a supplementary petition containing information about the briefing of the Superintendent of Police of Barguna on Minni and some other documents by Tuesday.

The High Court bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman passed the order after a preliminary hearing on the bail petition.

Advocate ZI Khan Panna appeared for Minni while Deputy Attorney General Md Sarwar Hossain stood for the state.

Minni's lawyer filed the bail petition with this HC bench on Sunday.

On August 8, a HC vacation bench of Justice Sheikh Md Zakir Hossain and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman denied bail to Aysha Siddika Minni in the Rifat murder case.
