The High Court (HC) has fixed today (Wednesday) to pass an order on a writ petition seeking directives for releasing Badal Farazi who served 10 years in India's Tihar jail in a murder case, reports UNB.

The two-member HC bench of Justice J B M Hasan and Justice Md Khairul Alam fixed the date on Tuesday after hearing the writ petition filed on July 8.

Barrister Humayun Kabir and Barrister Kawser stood for the petitioner while Deputy Attorney General Masud Hasan Chowdhury Porag for the state.

The court also asked the petitioners to submit necessary files again for the arguments.

Then, the court will pass its order after examining the files.

After serving in Indian jail for 10 years in a murder case, Bangladeshi youth Badal Farazi was brought back home on Friday (July 6) under a bilateral treaty on 'Transfer of Sentenced Prisoners'.
