HC questions negligence of authorities to curb mosquito menace at HSIA

The High Court questioned on Tuesday the negligence of the authorities concerned in curbing mosquito menace at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA)in the capital, reports UNB.

A bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader passed the order after hearing a writ petition filed the Supreme Court lawyer Md Tanvir Ahmed.

Deputy Attorney General Abdullah Al Mahmud Basar has been asked to respond the question.

The court also issued a rule seeking explanation from the respondents as to why it should not be directed to take urgent measures to curb mosquito from the airport.

In the rule, the HC also sought explanation as to why the negligence and inactivity of authorities concern would not be declared illegal.

The respondents including the secretary of Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry, chairman of Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh(CAAB),Dhaka North City Corporation mayor were asked to respond to the rule within four weeks.
