Hot and higher humid weather persists in city

Hot and humid weather persisted in the city on Wednesday amid lack of rain and presence of higher humidity.
The humidity was recorded as high as 81 per cent in the air both in the morning and in the evening which raised the heat despite the fact that temperature remained almost same on the day like that of Tuesday, said Met Office.
The maximum temperature in the city was found as 34.0 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature 27.8 degrees on the day, said Met Office.
The country's highest temperature of 35.5 degrees was recorded at Tarash in Sirajganj on the day until 6:00 pm while the lowest temperature was 23.4 degrees at Dighinala in Khagrachhari.
The country's highest rainfall of 67 mm was recorded at Hatiya from 12:00 am to 6:00 pm on the day. Dimla in Nilphamari also witnessed 45 mm rainfall during the time.
Light to moderate rain was likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at only a few places over other five divisions in next twenty-four hours starting from Wednesday 6:00 pm
The sun sets at 5:59 pm today (Thursday) and rises at 5:46 am tomorrow (Friday).
